Falkirk beat bottom club Alloa 5-0 at the Falkirk Stadium on Saturday to move to within a point of second-placed Hibernian in the Ladbrokes Championship.
John Baird hit a first-half hat-trick for the Bairns - having also netted a treble at Dumbarton three weeks ago - and Bob McHugh and Luke Leahy struck after the interval for Peter Houston's team.
Morton defeated Queen of the South 2-0 at Cappielow to continue their good run and move into the play-off places. Denny Johnstone got both goals for Jim Duffy's team early in the second half.
