Morton have confirmed that former Scotland midfielder David Hopkin, a coach at Cappielow, will prepare the squad for Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup fourth-round tie at Inverness CT.
Manager Allan Moore and his assistant Mark McNally left the Greenock club in the wake of Saturday's 5-1 home defeat to Livingston in the Scottish Championship.
Chairman Douglas Rae told the Morton website: "I would confirm that our Development Squad coach, David Hopkin, has been appointed as Interim Manager.
"David will be assisted by our Head of Youth, Derek Anderson, in the run-up to this weekend's Scottish Cup match against Inverness Caley Thistle at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium."
