IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Awards - August 2012

Rangers' Andy Little wins the August IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Ginger Boot Award.

The IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Award winners have been named for the month of August. After much debate, a judging panel consisting of respresentatives from the Scottish media decided upon the winners.

  • IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Player of the Month John Boyle (Airdrie United)
  • IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Young Player of the MonthSteven Lawless (Partick Thistle)
  • IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Ginger Boot Winner – Andy Little (Rangers)

Andy Little has won the August IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Ginger Boot Award and rewarded himself with a new pair of boots as a result. 

Andy Little - IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal Ginger Boot Winner August 2012The Northern Ireland internationalist enjoyed a tremendous month scoring five times in the IRN-BRU SFL Third Division, netting a hat-trick against East Stirlingshire as well as strikes against Peterhead and Berwick Rangers.  In addition, Little has also found the net three times in both The Scottish Communities League Cup and The Ramsdens Cup against Brechin City and Falkirk and currently sits on eight strikes for the campaign.

Little said: “I was delighted with the way I started the season.   I was surprised to get straight into the team having not done a lot of training but I loved it and to be so involved was great.

"“August was a good month for me and the goals I got were a big bonus. I had kept myself in decent nick but it was still really pleasing to find the net as much as I did.
