Jack delighted to capture McKinnon

Elgin boss pleased that search for full back paid off

Elgin City boss Ross Jack is delighted that his persistence in pursuing defender Ross McKinnon paid off when the former Motherwell kid opted to join his side last week.

Jack had tried to bring in the 20-year-old, nephew of former Scotland defender Rab McKinnon, last summer when he was released by the Fir Park side, however he opted to try his luck in Holland.

Ross McKinnonThe Borough Briggs boss kept tabs on McKinnon via the internet and saw off interest from Albion Rovers as soon as he saw that the full back was being released by Veendahm.

Jack explained: “I know Ross from a loan spell he had at Alloa last season when he was really impressive. I made moves to get him last summer but he wanted to try Europe but I was using the internet to see how he was getting on.”

“It has been a long pursuit but I am glad to have finally brought him here and I am sure he will help us head for the Play-Offs.”
