Partick Thistle defender Willie Kinniburgh has turned his back on a career in football to become a Policeman.
The 27-year-old started his career at Motherwell in 2001 and he made over 60 appearances for the Fir Park side during a 6 and a half year stay that included loan spells at Ayr United and the Firhill side.
Kinniburgh joined Thistle permanently in January 2008 and played 82 times for the Jags and scored twice with a loan spell at Clyde seeing the defender play 14 times for the Bully.
Thistle boss Jackie McNamara said, “Willie did not feature very often last season but he leaves her with our best wishes for a long and successful new career.”
Kinniburgh’s younger brother Steven started his career at rangers and he remains in the game at AFC Telford.
