Former Hamilton Accies youngster Jordan Kirkpatrick has been invited down for a second trial period at English Championship side Burnley.
The 20-year-old midfielder or attacker, was released by the Accies at the end of 2012 after 6 years and 24 games in the SPL and the First Division, however he had dropped out of manager Billy Reid’s plans.
Burnley took Kirkpatrick in for a week in early January and they were keen for a second look immediately until the wintry weather in the North of England slowing things up.
Kirkpatrick got the green light to go down to Turf Moor club again for this week with a view to earning a permanent deal with Sean Dyche’s side.
Airdrie United are just one of a number of clubs in Scotland who have expressed an interest in Kirkpatrick however they have been put on hold until the result of the Burnley trial is known.
