Rangers maintained their 100% away record to stay 23 points clear at the top of League 1 with a 2-0 win over Ayr United at Somerset Park thanks to second-half goals from Nicky Law and Jon Daly.

Dunfermline tightened their grip on second spot by beating Forfar 4-2 at Station Park with goals from Faissal El-Bakhtaoui, Stephen Husband, Darren Dods (own goal) and Lawrence Shankland. James Dale and Gavin Swankie netted for Forfar, who led 2-1 at one stage.

Airdrieonians moved off the bottom of the table after coming from behind to defeat Brechin City 2-1 at the Excelsior Stadium. Robert Thomson opened the scoring but Ross Gilmour soon equalised and Gregor Buchanan grabbed a last-minute winner for the Diamonds.

Stranraer climbed to third place despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Arbroath at Stair Park. Paul McManus gave the visitors an early lead but Grant Gallagher equalised with 11 minutes left.

It was also 1-1 between Stenhousemuir and East Fife at Ochilview. Liam Buchanan had the Methil men on course for victory but Eddie Malone levelled in stoppage time.
