Road to Hampden: Livingston topped Group H with a 100% record then recorded home wins over Ayr United (4-0) and Ross County (2-0) in the knock-out stages. St Mirren were Group G winners with two wins, two draws and two bonus points then upset the odds to beat Aberdeen (2-1) and Rangers (3-2) in the last 16.
League Cup pedigree: Both clubs have won the trophy once. Livingston beat Hibernian 2-0 in the 2003/04 final after beating Dundee in the last four during Davie Hay’s time as manager. Danny Lennon led Saints to League Cup glory in 2012/13 – they shocked Celtic 3-2 in the semi-final and defeated Hearts by the same score in the final.
Past meetings: St Mirren have won both meetings between the teams in the Premiership this season – 1-0 in Paisley in August and 1-0 in West Lothian in November.
Recent form: David Martindale’s Livingston are on a 10-match unbeaten run – a sequence of eight straight wins followed by two draws with Celtic in the past week. Jim Goodwin’s St Mirren enjoyed an 11-game unbeaten run earlier in the season but have gone four matches without a win since beating Ross County 2-0 on Boxing Day.
