Forfar skipper Mark McCulloch is expected to be back next month after more than six months out with a knee injury.
The 38-year-old former Dunfermline, Inverness CT, Livingston, Partick Thistle and Ross County centre-back was stretchered off in a Ramsdens Cup tie at Dens Park but made a playing comeback against Lochore Welfare recently.
After feeling no ill effects, McCulloch has stepped up his training and a return to first-team action is pencilled in for March.
Loons boss Dick Campbell said: “We are delighted that Mark is inching closer to fitness. He is a really experienced player and it will be great to have him in my squad again.”
