Lumsden leaves Arbroath

Arbroath have parted company with boss Todd Lumsden in the wake of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Stirling Albion at Forthbank in Ladbrokes League 2.

Arbroath have parted company with boss Todd Lumsden in the wake of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Stirling Albion at Forthbank in Ladbrokes League 2.

The 38-year-old, who has previously managed Albion Rovers, had been in charge at Gayfield since stepping up from assistant when Allan Moore left the club last April but the Red Lichties have slipped to third from bottom after a run of six games without a win and four without a goal.

A club statement read: “After a disappointing run of results and a poor league position, Arbroath FC have parted company with manager Todd Lumsden and his assistant Steven Hislop.

“The club would like to publicly thank them for their efforts since taking over towards the end of last season and wish them both well for the future. The club will now actively seek a new management team.”

Arbroath travel to Berwick for a rearranged game on Tuesday then welcome bottom club East Stirlingshire to Gayfield on Saturday.
