Hamilton completed the paperwork to bring 30-year-old striker Derek Lyle back to the club at the weekend to end the player’s six month absence from New Douglas Park. Lyle, who began his career at Partick Thistle and also had spells at East Stirling, Queen of the South, Stirling Albion, Dunfermline and Dundee before joining the Accies in June 2008.
Lyle’s career under Billy Reid was disrupted by a cruciate injury in 2009 and he left Lanarkshire to join Morton in January, however after impressing in pre-season Reid has brought him back.
