Derek Lyle scored the only goal as Queen of the South defeated Morton 1-0 at Palmerston in the Ladbrokes Championship on Saturday.
In a game brought forward from Boxing Day at the request of the clubs, Lyle struck after 14 minutes to earn James Fowler’s side their first league win since August 22.
The result moves Queens to within a point of the promotion play-offs while Jim Duffy’s men stay sixth in the table, four points behind the Dumfries club.
