McCluskey making his mark

Morton boss Jim Duffy is hoping that Cappielow fans will now see the best of striker Stefan McCluskey after he has shaken off a number of injuries.

Morton boss Jim Duffy is hoping that Cappielow fans will now see the best of striker Stefan McCluskey after he has shaken off a number of injuries.

The 24-year-old summer signing from Duffy’s former club Clyde notched his first goal for the Greenock side when they defeated Stenhousemuir 3-1 on Saturday and the Morton boss reckons there is more to come.

Duffy said: “Stefan has been unlucky since he came here as he dislocated a shoulder in a pre-season game and then picked up a calf injury when he was making his way back.

“He got over that and was then sidelined by an ankle problem picked up in a reserve game but thankfully that is behind him now as well.

“Hopefully he can get a run of games and get sharp in front of goal and show everybody here what he is all about. Saturday was a good start but there are more goals in Stefan.”
