McCormack joins Airdrie

Defender becomes a Diamond

Former Hibs, Ross County and East Fife defender Darren McCormack has clinched a deal with Airdrie after impressing the Diamonds during pre-season training.

Darren McCormack in action for East Fife 24-year-old, who has also played for Scotland at an under-21 level, had joined the Fifers in January 2012 following his release from the Dingwall club after suffering a leg break that saw him drop out of things.

Airdrie boss Jimmy Boyle said: “Darren started off his career in the SPL with Hibs. He then headed to a good side in Ross County but left there after breaking his leg however he has a hunger to do well for us and do well for himself and get back to full-time football again.”

“I am sure that attitude will see him do well for us.”
