Ayr United player/manager Mark Roberts has tipped former Celtic youngster Jon-Paul McGovern to star for his men this season.
The 33-year-old, who has also played for Livingston, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Swindon Town, Carlisle United, Celtic Nation and Derry City, joined the Honest Men in the summer and Roberts has been delighted with what he has seen so far.
He said: “Jon-Paul is a tremendous football player who really should not be playing at this level. I am delighted he is and I am sure our fans will appreciate his talents as he is really creative.
“There will be comparisons made to Ryan Stevenson, who was great with us before going to Hearts, as Jon-Paul is just as good. I am sure he will be a star for us this season.”
