McGuigan boots for Rovers

Albion Rovers striker Mark McGuigan is expected to return to action next month as his back injury is not as bad as was first feared.

The 25-year-old former Partick Thistle player was taken to hospital after being hurt in last week’s 2-1 defeat to Stranraer in the Petrofac Training Cup.

Player/manager Darren Young said: “We could not take any chances but I am pleased to say that he should be back in a couple of weeks.”
