Ross County have named Jim McIntyre as their new manager following the recent departure of Derek Adams.
The 42-year-old former Dunfermline boss had been in charge of Queen of the South since June 2013 but resigned this morning to take up the post in Dingwall with immediate effect.
Billy Dodds is the new assistant manager at the Global Energy Stadium while Steven Ferguson will continue in his new role as Head of Youth Development.
Ross County's new management team will be unveiled to the media on Wednesday and their first match in charge will be at home to Motherwell on Saturday.
Chairman Roy MacGregor said: "I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to the chairman and directors of Queen of the South Football Club for their understanding in giving Ross County permission to talk to their former manager to allow formal and swift agreement to join the club."
A Queen of the South spokesman said: "While clearly very disappointed to lose the manager's services, we understand his desire to work at a higher level again and the board would like to thank he and Ross County for the professional manner in which the negotiations took place.
"We would also like to place on record our thanks for his services over the past 15 months and acknowledgement that Jim achieved all the targets set for him in that time.
“We believe he leaves the club well equipped to push for a play-off place in the Championship again despite the quality of clubs at this level this season.
"The process to find a replacement manager will begin immediately."
