Queen of the South’s promotion hopes have taken a dent after midfielder Stephen McKenna was ruled out of action for the rest of the season due to a hip injury.
The 28 year old has been out of action for 4 weeks and tests this week confirmed that surgery is required with Palmerston manager Jim McIntyre saying: “It is disappointing news for Stephen and for us. He will get the op soon but will not be back before the end of the season. He has been a big player for us so he will be missed but thankfully we have brought in Mark Kerr and Lewis Kidd recently.”
