New Elgin manager Barry Wilson, who was only appointed on Tuesday, has started work on reshaping his side already by allowing full back Ross McKinnon, to depart at his own request.
McKinnon, the nephew of former Scotland player Rab McKinnon, started his career at his uncle’s former club Motherwell and had a successful loan spells at Dumbarton Alloa.
He headed across to Holland, where his uncle also played, when he was released by the Fir Park side in 2012 and Elgin signed him a year ago and he played in 18 games for them.
Wilson said: “Ross asked to be released and we have agreed to it. Hopefully that frees up space to bring someone else in.”
