Dumbarton’s plans for life in the First Division received a boost when home grown youngster Martin McNiff signed a new deal at the Sons for the next two seasons.
The 22-year-old joined the club 5 years ago and has established himself at the centre of his side’s defence where his partnership with Alan Lithgow stood strong as Alan Adamson’s side knocked out both Arbroath and Airdrie in the Play-offs to secure promotion.
Adamson said, “Martin grew in stature last season and I am delighted that he has opted to remain with us. I am sure that he will continue to grow in the First Division.”
