Morton have named their former midfielder Craig McPherson as assistant manager to Jim Duffy.
The 43-year-old also played for Clyde, Airdrie and Falkirk before heading up the Falkirk Youth Academy.
A Morton spokesman said: "His experience is essential and welcomed to enhance the club's long-term strategy of investing in the development of local talent.
"The board and the manager are delighted with this new appointment and look forward to welcoming Craig back to his home town club."
