Queen’s Park head coach Gus MacPherson was content with his new-look side’s first friendly outing despite the Spiders being held to a goalless draw by Lowland League East Kilbride.
The Spiders used 11 new players, including six trialists, and MacPherson said: “The game was pretty much what I expected as it was played in fits and starts.
“We are a new-look team with nine signings made already. We have another game against Motherwell on Thursday night and then play Queen of the South on Saturday so it is a tough schedule but it’s all about the squad gelling and getting fitter.”
