Queen of the South defender Chris Mitchell underwent surgery on a disc problem in his back this week successfully with manager Jim McIntyre hoping to have the former Falkirk and Bradford City player available to help their promotion push before Christmas.
The 26 year old suffered the injury in pre-season and when a period of rest failed to bring a cure an operation was called for.
McIntyre said: “Everything went well with Chris and we are looking at a 12 week recovery process.”
