Montrose have secured the services of one-time former Queen’s Park, Alloa and Ayr United goalkeeper David Crawford despite interest from a First Division side.
The 27-year-old, who was a free agent after a stint with Clyde last season, played recently for the Links Park men as a trialist and Montrose boss Stuart Garden moved swiftly to tie him to the club on a more permanent basis.
Garden said, “A First Division club wanted David as a back-up goalkeeper, however he wants to play more often and he has the chance to establish himself as a first choice here.”
