Montrose have paid tribute to former Leeds United, Aberdeen and St Johnstone midfielder Jamie Winter, who left them at the weekend due to increasing work and family commitments.
Winter had been a stand-out for the Gable Endies since joining in 2011 from Broughty Athletic, however he has returned to the Junior club after discussions with manager Stuart Garden.
The Links Park boss said: “Jamie stays near Dundee but is now working close to Aberdeen and that move, along with an addition to his family, was really eating into his time. Quite rightly, he has put his family first and decided to play his football at Broughty.
“We all wish Jamie well and thank him for two years of good service to Montrose.”
