Moore extends Fir Park stay

Motherwell striker Craig Moore has agreed a contract extension that will keep him at Fir Park until the summer of 2016.

Motherwell striker Craig Moore has agreed a contract extension that will keep him at Fir Park until the summer of 2016.

The 19-year old, who spent time on loan at Cowdenbeath in 2012/13, made his SPFL debut for Stuart McCall's men in October and scored with his first touch against Hearts.

He suffered a serious knee injury against Inverness CT in May and will miss the start of the season but is making good progress after surgery.

McCall told the club website: "We were delighted with Craig’s contribution last season - he really has made the step up.

“He’s a little different to what we have currently in terms of the way he plays. Obviously, his injury is a blow, but this club has a great record of looking after players, nursing them back to fitness and getting the best from them.

“Craig will be another example and, although he might miss the start of the campaign, he will have a huge part to play not only next season, but beyond.”
