Aberdeen loanee Bruce Anderson opened the scoring on 7 minutes for the Accies, a lead they doubled soon after from the spot, which saw Motherwell skipper Stephen O'Donnell shown a red card. Accies rounded off a storming first half performance by adding a third on the half hour. Accies added a fourth just after the hour, before Mark O'Hara netted a consolation from the penalty spot for the Steelmen.
