Goals from Robert McHugh and Steven Meechan gave Motherwell a 2-0 win over Celtic at Barrowfield in the latest round of Clydesdale Bank U19 League fixtures at the weekend.
The Steelmen are now up to fourth in the table, eight points behind unbeaten leaders Hibernian who defeated Inverness CT 4-1 thanks to goals from Fergus Bell, Patrick Deane, Kurtis Byrne and Lee Currie. Connor Rennie replied.
Second-placed Rangers remain three points back after beating Kilmarnock 1-0 at Kilwinning Sports Club, where Kane Hemmings was the matchwinner.
Mark Cowan of Hearts is now the leading marksman in the Clydesdale Bank U19 League after a double in the 4-0 win at St Mirren took his tally for the season to eight. Arvydas Novikovas and Ben Long also netted for Darren Murray's men.
Paul Sludden and Stewart Murdoch were on target as Falkirk saw off bottom club Hamilton 2-0 while the match between Dundee United and Aberdeen fell victim to a frozen pitch.
