The Scottish Premier League were saddened to learn today of the death of Motherwell vice-chairman Bill Dickie, who had been a director of the Fir Park club for more than 30 years.
A renowned architect by trade, Bill was Motherwell chairman between 2003-2008 and was also a former president of the Scottish Football Association.
SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "Bill was one of the game's true gentlemen, who served Motherwell and Scottish football with distinction over many, many years.
"The news of his passing came as a great shock and our thoughts go out to his family and his colleagues at Motherwell Football Club, where he was held in such high esteem."
Motherwell will hold a tribute to Bill at Saturday’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Inverness CT at Fir Park.
