Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon has made midfielder Stewart Murdoch his first signing since taking over at Tannadice.
The 26-year-old former Falkirk, East Fife and Fleetwood Town player joins United on a one-year deal after leaving Ross County.
McKinnon told the club website: "I am delighted to have Stewart on board. He is exactly the type of player we need going into this season. Not only is he the right age and a good footballer but he is a ball winner who is strong in the tackle and will protect our central defenders."
