East Fife’s former Scotland defender Gary Naysmith is expected to return to action a week on Saturday when the Fifers host Forfar, after a training ground injury kept him out against Rangers last weekend.
The 34-year-old suffered a hamstring strain last Thursday night as the New Bayview side prepared for their trip to Ibrox but manager Willie Aitchison is confident he will be back soon.
Aitchison said: “Gary was feeling his hamstring and it was too much of a risk to play him against Rangers. We are confident he will be back next weekend. In some ways that suits us - I would rather have him available for a game where we have a better chance of winning.”
