Alex Neil has been confirmed as the new manager of Norwich City after a hugely successful spell in charge of Hamilton Accies.
The 33-year-old took over from Billy Reid as player/manager in April 2013 and guided Accies into the top flight via a dramatic play-off win over Hibernian at the end of that season.
Neil leaves with the New Douglas Park club third in the Scottish Premiership table, just four points behind leaders Aberdeen after 20 matches.
Team captain Martin Canning will take charge in the interim period, with Frankie McAvoy continuing as assistant, although he is expected to move to Carrow Road in due course.
Neil told the Norwich website: "I’m absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to manage a club of the stature of Norwich – it’s an exciting challenge at a huge club and one that I’m looking forward to.
“Of course I’m sad to leave Hamilton, a brilliant club which has been such a huge part of my life for so long, but when an opportunity as exciting as this comes your way, you take it."
