Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson has made former Manchester United defender Adam Eckersley his latest signing.
The 28-year-old left-back, who was at Old Trafford as a youngster before moving to Port Vale, has been playing in Denmark for the last few years.
Neilson told the Hearts website: "He's got good experience and is a great character. We spoke to various people and got good reports and he's impressed in the time he has spent with us."
