Airdrie United end interest in Strachan with Lagana signing on
Former Partick Thistle and Ross County winger Adam Strachan is on the look out for a new club after failing to win a deal with Kenny Black's side. Strachan played in a bounce game for the Diamonds in midweek however Black's interest in the player has cooled.
One player definitely joining the Second Division side is Australian Frankie Lagana who played as a trialist against Raith Rovers last Saturday.
Bully Wee bring in seven
John Brown's rebuilding job at Clyde took a step forward yesterday when the Cumbernauld Club signed seven players for the new season after a series of trial matches at the club. Connell Boyle is making the step up from Juvenile side Campsie Black Watch with Maryhill Junior's duo of midfielder Alan McFadden and striker Willie Sawyers also signing on.
Former Hibs Youth fullback Alastair Park is another recruit along with Mark Casey who previously played in midfield with Ayr United and Albion Rovers with 29 year old Paul Stewart returning to the club for a second spell following spells at Queen of the South, Stranraer, East Stirling and East Fife. Former St Mirren defender Scott Gair is the seventh player to commit to the club.
Grady continues career at Cappielow
Morton have reached a deal to extend the contract of veteran striker James Grady until the beginning of 2010. Grady joined the Cappielow club six months ago from Hamilton Accies and David Irons has now extended the deal for the player, who scored the goal that won Gretna promotion to the SPL in 2007.
Thirty eight year old Grady has also played with Clydebank, both Dundee clubs, Ayr United and Partick Thistle during his 15 year long career.
Murray Hill not Henman Hill for Raith
Raith Rovers have bolstered their defence for the forthcoming season with the double signing of former Kilmarnock defender Grant Murray and ex-Alloa man Dougie Hill. Both players have featured as trialists in the Kirkcaldy men's friendly matches this season against Airdrie United and Norwich City with Murray signing for two years and Hill for 12 months.
Murray began his career at Hearts in 1996, before spells at St Johnstone and Partick Thistle and joined Kilmarnock in 2006 before being released at the end of last season. Hill was with Falkirk as a youth before two spells at Recreation Park which were sandwiched between a stint at Cowdenbeath.
Meanwhile, Rovers winger Joe Dunbar looks like moving off the Kirkcaldy transfer list and joining Junior outfit Bo'ness after their offer for the player was accepted by the Starks Park club.
Cowdenbeath add McBride
Cowdenbeath have added left side midfielder 19 year old Scott McBride to their squad on a six month loan deal from Division One neighbours Dunfermline Athletic. Central Park boss Danny Lennon, who lost striker John Gemmell to Montrose in midweek said, "I am delighted to add Scott to the squad as I have been tracking him for over 6 months now. I was also very impressed with his performance in the reserve game against us towards the end of the season."
