The 19-year-old agreed a four-year deal at Parkhead in September after leaving Manchester United and has been capped by the Republic of Ireland.
O'Connor now links up with Ian McCall's side, who are looking to climb the Ladbrokes Championship table in the second half of the season and go to Arbroath on Saturday.
