Stirling Albion have announced that team manager John O’Neill and assistant manager Roddy Grant have resigned following a run of poor results which culminated in a 6-1 defeat from Partick Thistle last Saturday.
O’Neill was appointed by the fan owned club in June 2010, having previously been assistant manager to Allan Moore when the club won the Second Division last season.
Paul Goodwin from the club’s Board said, “Everyone at Stirling Albion would like to pass their thanks on to John and Roddy for all of their hard work and support for our club. We appreciate this was a difficult decision for all concerned, but we need to now concentrate on surviving in the First Division.”
The club’s search for a new manager has began already and former Dundee boss Jocky Scott is believed to be affront-runner for the position.
