Keigan Parker has re-signed for a second season at Airdrie after playing his part in helping the Diamonds retain their League 1 status.

The 31-year-old ex-Ayr striker, who started his career at St Johnstone in 1998 and scored for Blackpool at Wembley, was playing for Shettleston Juniors last season until his former Perth team-mate Gary Bollan brought him to the Excelsior Stadium following his appointment as manager.

Parker made 18 appearances as Bollan’s side climbed off bottom spot and up to the safety of sixth place, with the Airdrie boss saying: “I am delighted Keigan has become the latest player to sign on for next season. He has worked hard since he came here and I am pleased he can carry that on.”
