Partick announce five for Hall of Fame

Firhill Hall of Fame to be expanded

Bertie AuldPartick Thistle have announced five more legends of the club are to be inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame at a Gala Dinner on Friday, November 18.

Former manager Bertie Auld, who kept the part-time club in the Premier League for five seasons in the 1970’s, as well as steering Thistle clear from relegation to the Second Division in a second spell in charge in 1986, completes a hat-trick as he has already been inducted into both Celtic’s and the SFA’s Hall of Fame.

Chic Charnley in action for Partick ThistleAuld will be joined by colourful character Chic Charnley, who played for the club in four different periods, and is now assistant manager to Jim Duffy at Clyde. Another famous face to be inducted is present day St Mirren manager Danny Lennon, who captained the Firhill side to successive promotions at the start of the New Millennium.

Star of the 1930’s Peter ‘Ma Ba’ McKennan, who scored for the Jags aged just 17 years and 60 days old is also being recognised despite his £5 fine for assaulting a Kilmarnock player after a game in 1938.

Finally, Alex O’Hara who signed for the club for a record fee of £25,000 from Rangers in 1977 and netted on his debut has earned his place in the Firhill Hall of Fame.
