Albion Rovers’ Scottish Cup hero Gary Phillips has had the offer of a new contract withdrawn by manager James Ward.
The 25-year-old, who joined the League 2 side two years ago from Largs Thistle, hit the headlines in November when he scored the winner against Motherwell.
Ward said: “Gary told us that he has other options to consider and that he would come back to us with an answer.
“We set a deadline and he told us he was still looking at challenging himself at a higher level so it was time for us to move on. I am now looking to build my squad and get someone else in.”
