Party for Pars, Stranraer in play-offs

A crowd of 6,236 saw Joe Cardle's first-half goal give Allan Johnston's men all three points as they finished 18 clear at the top.

Stranraer clinched the final play-off place with a 1-0 home win over Cowdenbeath. Mark McGuigan got the only goal early in the second half to leave the Blue Brazil facing a play-off to stay up.

Airdrieonians just missed out on the top four despite a 3-0 win against Ayr United at Somerset Park. Alan Lithgow, Dylan Mackin and Sean Crighton were all on target for the Diamonds.

Albion Rovers also finished two points outside the play-offs despite beating Stenhousemuir 3-1 at Ochilview. Scott McBride grabbed a double and Ally Love also scored for Rovers, with Jamie McCormack pulling one back.

Brechin ensured their survival with a 2-1 win at relegated Forfar. Darren McCormack and Jamie Robson scored for City before Danny Denholm pulled one back. Forfar had Andy Ryan sent off and Craig Molloy followed for the visitors late on.
