The first game at the Perth club's old ground was against Queen's Park on Christmas Day 1924 and the last was versus Ayr United in front of 6,728 fans in April 1989.
Muirton Park's record attendance of 29,972 was set against Dundee in a Scottish Cup tie in the 1950s and it was also the venue where the Dark Blues were crowned league champions on the final day of 1961/62.
Floodlights were added in 1964 and were officially switched on against FA Cup holders West Ham in December of that year. One of the stadium's most famous matches saw St Johnstone beat Hamburg 3-0 in the 1971/72 UEFA Cup.
The ground required significant investment by the mid-1980s but the club were approached by the ASDA supermarket chain who were looking for a site in Perth.
New chairman Geoff Brown oversaw the move to McDiarmid Park - named after farmer Bruce McDiarmid who donated the land - and it opened in August 1989.
Saints beat Clydebank in the first match at the new stadium, watched by 7,267 fans, and went on to win promotion to the Premier Division that season.
