League 1 Forfar have signed experienced defender Jim Paterson until January.
Dick Campbell has brought the 34-year-old, who can also play in midfield, to Station Park following his departure from Bristol Rovers.
Paterson had a loan spell at Celtic Nation last season and has also played for Dundee United, Motherwell, Plymouth, Aberdeen and Shamrock Rovers.
Forfar's next match is at home to Peterhead on Saturday September 13.
