Player Availability - Jonny Stewart

Stewart looks for new side after successful season at Brechin

Former Hearts youth captain Jonny Stewart is on the look-out for a new club after leaving Brechin City.

Johnny Stewart in action for Brechin CityThe 23-year-old full back or defensive midfielder who played and skippered the Tynecastle youth teams from the under-11 to under-17 played 31 times for the Glebe Park side last season.

Stewart reckons that experience as well as games for Hearts, Dundee and Raith Rovers will help him find new employers as he explained: “I made my first team debut for Hearts in May 2009 in a goalless draw with Celtic at Parkhead. I signed a new 3 year contract shortly afterwards. I also had 10 appearances for Dundee during a loan spell before making 4 appearances for Raith Rovers on a similar deal.”

“I also represented Scotland at U17 and U19 level. I picked up a couple injuries when breaking through into the first team at Hearts which stopped me progressing and fulfilling my potential there but I have been injury free for 2 years as the amount of games at Brechin show.”
