Striker Ryan Donnelly who had dreams of playing in the Premiership just over a year ago when he was on trial at Wigan has still to find a club for next season.
The 21-year-old spent a week under the eye of Roberto Martinez in March 2012 after hitting 25 goals in 33 games for Airdrie United, however he was not able to build on that as the Diamonds endured a disappointing season in the First Division.
Donnelly, who scored 6 times last season, said: “A year is a long time in football as I have found out. I feel I need a fresh challenge after only playing for the one club and to be fair Airdrie were good about it when I said I wanted to move on.”
“Hopefully I will get something sorted soon and whilst it may not be Wigan I would like a chance at full time football if possible.”
