Aberdeen stay second in the Scottish Premiership after Adam Rooney's late penalty was enough to earn them a 1-0 win over St Mirren in Paisley.
Motherwell are just a point behind following a dramatic 4-3 victory against Partick Thistle at Fir Park. John Sutton and Stephen McManus scored in the last five minutes after the Jags had led 3-2 with a Chris Erskine goal and a Kallum Higginbotham double, one from the penalty spot. Well's other goals came from Keith Lasley and Lionel Ainsworth.
Dundee United are up to fourth place after beating Kilmarnock 3-2 at Tannadice. Gary Mackay-Steven's opener was cancelled out by Alexei Eremenko and Kris Boyd and Rory McKenzie combined to give Killie the lead. Curtis Good equalised almost immediately and John Rankin hit the winner in 71 minutes.
Hibernian boosted their hopes of making the top six with a 2-1 home victory over Ross County. Sam Stanton's free kick was added to by Tom Taiwo before Richie Brittain pulled one back.
