Kris Commons scored a first-half double as Celtic beat Motherwell 3-0 at Parkhead to move 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

A Stephen McManus own goal completed the scoring before Celtic had Anthony Stokes sent off in the closing stages.

Inverness CT are up to fourth place after beating Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie thanks to a 22nd-minute goal from Danny Williams.

St Mirren held off a Hibernian fightback to win 3-2 at Easter Road. A Ben Williams own goal and efforts from Adam Campbell and Steven Thompson had the Buddies three goals ahead at the break before James Collins reduced the deficit with a second-half double.

Hearts hit back to draw 3-3 with St Johnstone in an incredible match at McDiarmid Park. Stevie May grabbed a hat-trick for Saints - two of them penalties - but Sam Nicholson and Danny Wilson struck in the closing minutes after Dale Carrick had earlier given the visitors hope. St Johnstone played much of the game with 10 men after Steven Anderson was red carded and Perth keeper Alan Mannus and Hearts' Ryan Stevenson were dismissed late on.

Partick Thistle were denied a first home win of the season when Robbie Muirhead struck in stoppage time to earn Kilmarnock a 1-1 draw. Kallum Higginbotham scored early for Thistle but Aaron Taylor-Sinclair was sent off for conceding a penalty and Muirhead netted the rebound after Paul Gallacher had saved from Kris Boyd.
