Iain Russell scored a dramatic winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time as Queen of the South beat Raith Rovers 4-3 in a thrilling Friday night match at Stark's Park.
Ex-Kirkcaldy striker John Baird was credited with scrambling home an early opener for the visitors and they looked to be in control when Gavin Reilly doubled their lead early in the second half.
Mark Stewart and Christian Nade hauled Rovers level and the game seemed to be going their way when Queens had Kevin Holt sent off with 18 minutes left.
Incredibly, Derek Lyle then restored the Dumfries side's advantage but Stewart levelled soon after and Raith piled on the pressure in the closing stages.
However, it was Queen of the South who had the final say, Russell finding the corner with a deflected shot from the edge of the box to lift them above Grant Murray's team and into third spot.
