Queen's Park SPFL Trust Trophy

Queen's Park reach the final

Spiders score six in first semi-final

Queen's Park beat East Kilbride 6-2 after extra time at the City Stadium on Tuesday night to reach the final of the SPFL Trust Trophy for the first time.

In an action-packed encounter, the Championship side went 2-0 up through Zak Rudden and Ryan Duncan but Jack Leitch and David Ferguson made it 2-2 by half-time.

That was still the scoreline at the end of 90 minutes but Queen's Park proved too strong for the Lowland League leaders in extra time, scoring three goals in seven minutes.

Substitute Reece Evans made it 3-2, with a Matty Connelly own goal and Rudden's second of the night taking the tally to five before Evans rounded things off.

Callum Davidson's side will now face either Dunfermline Athletic or Livingston, who meet in the second semi-final on Wednesday February 5, live on BBC ALBA at 7.35pm.
