Raith Rovers will have a new home shirt sponsor for 2014/15 after Val McDermid backed the Kirkcaldy club even further.
The crime writer already sponsors a stand at Stark’s Park and Grant Murray’s side will take to the field proudly boasting the valmcdermid.com logo on their shirts in the Championship.
Commercial Director Tom Morgan said: “Val has been a great supporter of the club in the past and when she was approached about the sponsorship she knew it was a win-win situation for herself and the club. It is an honour for a provincial club like Raith Rovers to be involved with a world-famous author.”
Writer McDermid said: “The benefit of shirt sponsorship has never been clearer than in this coming season.
“With the arrival of Rangers, Hibernian and Hearts in our division, there will be many more visitors to Stark’s Park. There will be massively more media interest, with photographers and TV cameras sending images of our ground and our players all round the world.”
Electronic Systems Company KeyTech are continuing to sponsor the back of the Rovers shirt, with their away strip this season being a one-off green and black kit to mark 100 years since the First World War started and the role of McCrae’s battalion in the conflict.
