Rangers are through to the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup after beating 10-man Hibernian 2-1 after extra time at Ibrox on Tuesday.
Lewis MacLeod fired a low shot past Hibs keeper Mark Oxley in 14 minutes but Danny Handling capitalised on a defensive slip to equalise for Alan Stubbs' side early in the second half.
Handling saw red for a tackle on David Templeton with 10 minutes remaining and Ally McCoist’s team made the extra man count, with Nicky Law scoring in the first period of extra time.
Rangers now face Barry Ferguson’s Clyde at Ibrox in round two on August 19 or 20.
Holders Raith Rovers are out of the competition after going down 1-0 to Fife rivals Dunfermline at East End Park.
Ross Millen got the only goal with eight minutes to go and the Pars will have another home tie in the second round, against rivals Falkirk in a fortnight.
